Sheckel Homes is a Medicaid Waiver Provider under the Department of Disabilities Services, Department of Disabilities Administration, Government of the District of Columbia, and Maryland that provides Community-based services, Mental Health, in-home support, supported living, host homes, and many more. Sheckel Homes' in-home support services Community services offer the help and support necessary for people with intellectual disabilities or mental illness to live independently in their homes and as active citizens in the community. Our dedicated team of professionals at Sheckel Homes works with each person to ensure they receive the very best care and support according to the needs and capabilities of each person.
Sheckel Homes abide by the provisions of a person's Individual Support Plan (ISP) or care Plan regarding services and supports. Staying by the ISP/CP helps the person gain a choice of social and leisure skills that increase inclusion and independence in the community. Shekel also emphasizes in-home supports that promote the person's freedom and selection and allow integration with other citizens who live and work in the community.
